Nant Clwyd House, featured in Non the Washerwoman’s story, is a great place to see first hand how people lived in medieval times. Non’s story is set around 1435 when the house was first built. If you visit the medieval ‘business room’ you’ll find out what the furniture was like and what the rooms looked like. Apparently the master of the house was very religious. He went on a special pilgrimage to see the pope in Rome. That must have taken a long time on horse back!

When you go and visit Nant Clywd House see if you can imagine Non and the other servants washing and scrubbing in the grounds of the house. Find out more about opening times and the location on the Denbighshire Council website.
